Formed in October 2021, VULNIFICUS emerged with a straightforward goal: to bring the brutality of early death metal into a modern production. Founded by Eston Browne, the band draws from the foundation of brutal death metal while incorporating technical playing, groove, and a more contemporary approach to songwriting.

The band introduced itself with INNOMINATION, a debut EP released in November 2021 through New Standard Elite. INVOCATION followed in June 2022, expanding on the sound established by the first release. Later that year, VULNIFICUS issued INEXPLICABLE, a limited tour-tape compilation through Indonesia's Denses Records. The initial run of 100 copies sold out, leading to an expanded digital edition and a digipak release through French label Percussive Spectre.

Following a lineup change, Browne rebuilt VULNIFICUS with Jamison Parker of Prophecy of Suffering and Evan Daniele of Dead and Dripping. The new lineup released INEXTRICABLE in November 2023 and took the band onto the road with Unique Leader artists Cordyceps. VULNIFICUS also made its festival debut at Gulfcoast Deathfest 3 in Houston, Texas.

The band continued to develop its lineup and live presence with bassist Mike Jones of Utter Scorn and drummer Jason McLean. After recording its debut full-length at Backroom Studios in Rockaway, New Jersey, VULNIFICUS signed with Comatose Music and released INCLINATION on October 10, 2025.

The release of INCLINATION opened a new chapter for the band. In 2026, VULNIFICUS returned to the road for the GUTTING NORTH AMERICA TOUR alongside To Violently Vomit of Disgorge, Putridity, and Condemned, while also appearing at Ohio Deathfest. These appearances have continued to establish VULNIFICUS as a working band within the North American brutal death metal scene.

With three EPs, a compilation, and its debut full-length behind them, VULNIFICUS continues to build on its sound through new material and live performances. INCLINATION represents the current direction of the band and the foundation for what comes next.
